Frequently Asked Questions

What Exactly is OCD?

OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) is a condition characterized by unwanted intrusive thoughts, images, and sounds (obsessions) that cause significant distress and lead to repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) performed to reduce the distress. OCD isn't just about being organized or liking things clean—it's a disorder that significantly impacts daily functioning and quality of life.

Do You Treat Other Disorders?

Yes! While I specialize in OCD, I also work with generalized anxiety, depression, life-transitions and changes, gender and sexual identity exploration, self-esteem/self-image, friends, family & partners of addicts and emotionally immature people, people pleasing & teaching Non-Ciolent Communication. The evidence-based approaches I use are effective across many related conditions, and I tailor treatment to your specific needs. No matter what is being addressed, all of my work is LGBTQAI+ affirming, and culturally sensitive.

What is ERP?

Exposure & Response Prevention Therapy is a specialized therapy where you gradually face your fears (exposure) while refraining from engaging in rituals (response prevention). This breaks the OCD cycle by teaching your brain that anxiety naturally decreases without compulsions. My approach is structured yet flexible, and always customized to your specific OCD manifestations.

What Makes Your Approach Unique?

My approach combines professional expertise with personal experience as someone who lives with OCD. This dual perspective allows me to understand both the clinical aspects and the lived reality of navigating this condition. I emphasize education about OCD mechanisms, personalized treatment planning, and skills development aimed at long-term independence. My goal isn't just symptom reduction but helping you develop mastery over your OCD.

Where Are You Licensed?

I am licensed in California. This means I can only work with you if you reside in California.

What Are Your Fees?

Therapy sessions (individual, family support, and diagnostic assessments) are $200 per 50-minute session. Professional consultations are $200 per hour, with custom quotes available for larger projects.

Do You Offer Virtual Appointments?

Yes, I exclusively provide therapy through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions. Research shows that Telehealth has been proven equally effective as in-person therapy for OCD treatment while offering greater convenience, eliminating travel time, and making therapy accessible regardless of your location within California.
